Where else can you get great wine & good food in Idaho
What a nice surprise finding this setting one evening on our travels from Portland, OR to Easley, SC. Wines offered were a nice contrast to wines of the far west. Some truly serious products; as, their 2000 Cabernet Franc which frankly is better than Chinon, also Cab Franc, which is thought of as the typical French wine. To quote my brother-in-law, the minister wine expert, "It's deep, rich and marvellous and the finish just goes on and on."
The restaurant had a full menu choice, but obviously we caught them in a beginning of summer "training" night for waitresses. Beautiful rolling hills setting, but rocky service. Steaks ordered medium-rare came in as medium-well. Oh well, the wonderful glass of 2003 Carmela Pinot Noir made up the difference in the evening's meal. Bottom line, will we return on our travels west, ~ a positive YES for "round two."
